they should just pull off the shifter assembly. Then they snap back on.

Thanks the floor is bare , did the water test found water coming in rear passenger floor where seat and floor meet.Looks like sunroof , now headliner does not get wet so is there any easy way to get to that one drain.I do not want to pull whole headliner. And where would I find bottom of drain hose.
Carpets are out I dont really like the car wash idea of cleaning as the ground is alays dirty and muddy and you would have to bring them home all wet.Any good ideas short of renting shampooer.thanks.
Also while inside of car is bare anything else I should look at ,hopefully this will be the only time carpet is out.I will caulk everything inside.Under carpet there is little black square patches ,they look like maybe drainage is this possible.

hang the carpet on the floor mat hooks, clean, let them drip dry for a 1/2 hr, squeegy off the bottom part that is still wet and throw in the back of a pickup for the ride home.

Ok here is where I am at heres the inside stripped

This is the tear in my sunroof where water enters

It comes into floor thru the rubber/plastic cover beside e brake pedal and runs along the trough starting where the orangeish /brown is

This is along drivers side floor trough ,water goes right to the back

And this is where it oozes out thru the floor and gets sucked up by the thick foam sound barrier padding at back corner where floor meets seat.

Now I have a couple of questions
Is the sunroof drain on drivers side suppose to drain thru wheel well(in pic)I took off rubber flap

And since nowhere is wet above could the drain just not be pointing out this drain exit in wheel well. Thanks

Glad you pulled the interior. It takes the guesswork out of finding the leaks.

That'* one of the reasons why I don't like sunroofs.........windnoise and waterleaks! Hope you get it dry again John! When you get that fix done then you start on my window regulator! Oh and of course that'* in between replacing the tails on your '90!
