I had one once for a week to play with, other than the 2 options you mention theres extra key fobs if you want, retrive radio security code, scan hvac.
You can also use it shift your tranny which is kinda cool but serves no purpose other than trouble shooting, but try it if you can, proves the point that you can shift these cars with 2 toggle switches....ie paddle switch?

I was under the impression that the radio was tied to the car via the VIN information in the 2000+. Is there more to it than that?

Pat, that is very cool. If you had the Navigation radio I believe there is an option (although I haven't confirmed this) that you can select/deselect the 'loudness' setting (which enhances bass + treble). I was told this is for the Navigation radio only but explore the Tech 2.

Too bad you weren't up this way, I'm seriously considering buying a Tech 2 off EBay, using it for a week, and then putting it back up there. I really need to program a key fob!

The 4t65e-hd is electronically controlled and you can have it shift gears with toggle switches (or paddle switches) by following the wiring schematics in a helm manual. Scott did this with BADSSEi for a while before PCM programming was available.

I'm surprised we haven't heard more talk of this. It sure would be nice to shift on your own accord!

Yeah, I know the Comp-G has it so I was thinking it couldn't be that hard to adapt...
