Strange Oil Leak
Hey gang -
Several months ago GM replaced the oil pan gasket on my 03 SSEi with 26K miles. Today, I get under there to change oil and the pan is getting wet again in one corner. I noticed this back then, but there is a trail of oil coming down the side the of block outside cylinder #6. As you can imagine, you can't follow it since the tranny is right there. Another note, last year the intake and valve cover gaskets were replaced (valve covers didn't leak, if they do a intake, they do valve covers anyhow).
Ok, using a mirror and feeling around, the valve cover does not appear to be leaking unless it was leaking where the bracket for the engine cover and etc is. But the rest of the head below the valve cover looks extremely clean. My question is to those of you who have seen that side of a 3800. Is there a sensor related to oil that could be leaking?
BTW, the car is under warranty, but I have little faith in their work. IMO, you need to have an idea before you go visit the dealer...
This picture is shooting up right next to the oil pan, hopefully you can tell where I am seeing this..
