Steering shaft
I know this has been discussed a number of times and I looked at the pictures but they are not of an 2000+ Bonneville and my question is this.
Can the intermidiate steering shaft on a 2003 Bonneville replaced the same way as in the pictures.
I know the black dust-shield can be removed by slitting it but can the shaft than be disconnected
at the steering rack and the shaft then removed trough the clear plastic type cover which has the re-enforcing wires.
Just like to know if any forum member has done this and encountered any problems or diffeculties.
TIA Velo

On the 2000+ there is a black dust cover that has to be slit and removed than there is a clear one piece clear plastic type cover going from the steering rack trough the firewall into the footwell and I dont know if you can remove the pinchbolt from the steeering rack and take the ISS out via the footwell under the steering collum.
If anybody is interested you can see a 2000+ picture where some member changed a
Steering Wheel Positioning Sensor.
