Default How difficult is it to change the FPR?

I've been chasing down a "hesitation" on acceleration issue for some time now and have read that if you smell gas fumes in the vacuum line that hooks up to the FPR, it can be going south. How involved of a job is it to change out the FPR? Are there any how-to'* floating around that i didn't find from my initial search?

Well actually, it'* as simple as pulling off the round metal ring that holds it in and taking the FPR out. The ring has two tiny holes in the end and you can use tiny pliers or a pick to pry it out. Very similar to the ring that holds in the MAF screen.

Excellent, I can now use those snap ring pliers i bought for more than one thing. Anyone know roughly how much a fuel pressure regulator costs? Oddly enough the FPR in my dads 2002 GMC Sierra went out last month and i smell gas in the vacuum T at mine.

It'll run you about 65 bucks for one. Of course I recommend the AC Delco one.

you want a cheaper suggestion? get a fuel rail from the junkyard, $25. Just make sure when they or you pull it, it has fuel in it. that will tell you the fpr is good.
