OK my dash has not decided to stop working every so often! EVERYTHING but the oil/temp/boost. DIC/speed/tach/gas/Cruise, even the miles trip/total stop counting, now the displays are on, but not updating. ANY friggen clue what'* causing this?

my guess is a short somewhere. If all the info is still there when they come back on then its probably between the computer and the dash, if the info is lost, then maybe before the computer in the electrical line. By info I mean the trip odometer and stuff. The things that would reset when you take the negative terminal off the battery.

Possibly the same oxidized connections inside the gauges cluster that plague the 92-99 SSE/SSEi.

My guess is there is a open somewhere, possibly with the grounding between the cluster and chassis.

In the world of cars, (and other wiring systems), a open is much more prevalent than a short.

As far as this dash problem, I have not heard of this on the 2000+ models yet.
I know there was a similar problem with the dash blinking on the 92-99 models. Possibly do a forum search to see if the past problem might be the same problem you are having.

The readouts are on- but not counting- So I can see I have 106,347mi but 2 mi down the road it says the same. I pulled and reseated any and all fuses or relays related toi it and it'* behaved for a day.

I'm betting a connection TO or WITHIN the cluster itself. This is a common problem, and not only with the 92-99 crowd. There'* a ton of connections through the cluster layers. It only takes one loose/corroded contact to do this.
