Default Chugging while driving sometimes

I have a 2000 bonne with a 3.8 non */C. While driving sometimes it chugs or misses like it is getting too much gas but not all the time. I had a problem with the fuel gauge and changed the fuel pump and filter that went away. About a month later the chugging started and it stalled a couple times. This does not happen all the time but when it does if I'm on the E-way I just give it some gas and let it go into passing gear and let off, then it is fine for a bit and it might happen 1 more time and then be gone for a day or 2 then it will happen again. it has stalled on me twice but all the other times it is while I'm driving on the Eway and the passing gear clears it up. Just wondering if anyone has had run into this before. Alot of possibilities but not wanting to throw everything at it. I checked the codes on it and it gave a soft code of Evaporator system. I'm thinking maybe canister or fuel vapor pressure sensor?

I seem to have missed this one.

Pull your plugs and check them, how old are they? How old are the plug wires? Test your fuel pressure. Let us know what you find.
