Another day of well behaved driving. Knock on wood.

I popped on the bigger 3.1" pulley, with all this heat, I don't need the worry or octane additives. Should keep things a lot cooler.

Have we ruled out the ignition switch as a possibility.... This thread is so long I almost forget what all was tried. It seems that if it intermittantly only powered the accessory terminal , then it could die and not crank or restart. Maybe wiggle the key a little with car running and see if it dies. (To simulate the swinging of a keychain on the ignition switch as the car is going down the road)

I shouldn't have said anything. Just got back from picking my son up in the Bonne. Coming home I decided to give it a blast down this straight stretch, it burps dies, the battery light came on intantaneously then when off as the engine restarted itself. I felt lucky but that feeling soon went away as I rounded a corner and started down a steep grade my foot was on the brake and it stalled. I pulled over and parked on the side of the street before the brakes lost vacuum boost.
It took 10 minutes until the starter would activate and start the engine.

I think I'll video tape it the next time it happens.

It hadn't done it since I last posted.
The new INTENSE PCM arrived Yesterday so I just installed it.
I did notice some signs of moisture from the previously leaking water tank on the old PCM when I took it out.
Have to do the CASE Learn on Friday.

The relay that controls the ELC was blown and had to be replaced yesterday. I wonder if the problem was related in some way. :?

Who cares? I want to know if we're getting the steak.

Seems like you were either turning or accerating hard when ever it gave you trouble. I wonder if the water was moving & shorting something out.

I'll owe you one if you were right.

I suppose that is possible. We will see how this new computer performs over the next week of extreme testing.

After just having gone thru the procedure for starting this car with a new PCM, it dawned on me that the no start problem had almost identical symptoms. So it could have been related to Security protection system.

I just had the dealer do a CASE learn on the computer, now everything should be fine.....I hope.

This scan gauge is very nice. I can see now that with 100 F temps my 3.1" pulley is giving me about 4 degrees of KR.
and it sure doesn't take long to heat soak the CAI in these temps. It will gradually cool down to ambient but it takes 15 minutes of continuous high speed driving.
The coolant temp is now regulated to 160 F and will not thrown codes anymore. It maintains 170 F in this heat but as soon as you stop and go or after a heat soak it will rise to 180 F.

My trunk is packed, fuel tank topped with 94 octane, the slicks fit with all luggage including 5 gallons of race fuel and the beer cooler...lawn chairs...even a pillow for Laura.....so now I'm ready to roll to WCBF06.
