Just by the oft chance would there be any member out there that is going to be close to Fresno, CA any time soon that has experience replacing the LIM on a 2000 SSEi? I am really pushing the limits and I have a feeling it is just about ready to go but I just don't have the $$ to bring it to a shop to get it done...to many medical bills to put much of anything into the baby and it is killing me!!! Any help would be heaven sent and greatly, greatly appreciated!!

Ok, I take this non response as a resounding "NO" so let me ask another question then...would any of the experts in this great group be willing to volunteer their phone number to answer questions if I can find someone locally to help me tackle this project? My Son-In-Law has brothers and a step father who might be able to take this project on as they are pretty familiar with auto repair. Any volunteers? Thanks,

WOW...this is kind of a shock to me! I was really thinking that at least one of the experts in this Bonneville Club would step up an offer their assistance especially over the phone?? Guess I shouldn't of had any expectations but I am shocked to say the least.

Don't take it personally that nobody has offered up their phone number to walk you through this process. Follow this Tech Info article, have a Chilton'* manual handy, clean thoroughly, and torque everything to the correct specification and you'll be fine.

Remember, the intent of a web forum is for you post your issues so we can all benefit from helping you. Who knows, what you experience on the 05 may be unique to only that year. With telephone support only you and the supporter will be in the know.

Bottom line? We're here for you. If you run into issues, start a thread. We'll get you through it. I can dang near guarantee that.

I agree with Mark. Many of us have other obligations and projects which limits our time. If someone gives you a telephone number to call for help, that pretty much obligates them to be available at anytime you may need the help. Most simply wouldn't be able to make that kind of promise. The thought of the job is more daunting than actually doing it. The support documentation is a must, though. Even those of us who have turned wrenches for years wouldn't think of tackling jobs without it.

I am with DIck....the job sounds much more imposing than it actually is. The key is to do the research here on the club far in advance of tackling the job. Look over the procedures, look at the all of the components, check your tools, and get all the needed parts, and ask questions, here, about anything that may not make total sense to you before you begin the job. Then, when you are confident you have a good understanding, you can begin the actual replacement, knowing that we, here, should be able to help you overcome any snags you run up against. Having said that, it'* been over a year since I did mine, and I would even expect myself to need some support from the club if I were to do it again.

I can only speak for myself, but if you let us (me) know when you are going to do the project, I will do my best to be here for you.

Thanks Guys...that is what I am talking about!!! Alot of comradery and desire to help is all I think I was really looking for. I wasn't expecting anybody to give up there time for me or sit by their phones just waiting for my call. I am not a mechanic of any sort but do enjoy fixing things so I may decide to do this with the help of some locals and I appreciate the replies and support.
