Oh, and welcome to the club.
Took delivery in Bowling Green at the Museum (across the road from the assembly plant)
Flew down two weeks before that and watched it being built, got to ride in it for a couple hundred feet before its wheels ever touched the ground, got to start it for its very first time abd got to drive it off the assembly line... what a rush

That car is HOT!!!!
And to ride it down the assembly line -priceless.
Yeah, I can hardly imagine the feeling of watching my own special order car being assembled, and taking delivery at the museum dedicated to that model.

The second thing I noticed is that dealers seem to be replacing a module, and that the replacement doesn't fix the problem.
So.... I'm a wondering, when my 98 Vette got to be five years old it started giving strange messages. It cost me $70 bucks at my Chevy dealer to find out my battery was getting weak. Sure 'nuf, I replaced the battery (for another $70) and the weird messages went away.
Given that we are just in our first cold snap of the season here, and given that the problem quickly goes away when the car has been running a short time, and given that these symptoms point to times when a battery is at weakest.....
I'm going to replace the battery on Monday and I will report back.
By the way... are all of you who are reporting still on the original battery like me?

BTW, still have your E-scow? I remember from the Edmunds forum when you posted pictures of your cars and I immediately latched onto the E-scow in the background.

I went to Edmund'* Forum when I hit this problem. I wondered where everybody went, now I know
Yup, going to do a battery replacement to try and correct this "Theft message" problem. I'm having no problem with the battery but the similarity to the problem caused by my five year old Vette battery is just too great not to give it a whirl.
My Chevy dealer was very sharp and did not tear apart my car (but still charged me $70 for the info). I'm concerned the Pontiac dealer could tear apart things, do something that didn't fix the problem and might even cause some other problem. I have no reason to say that 'cuz I've never had to have anything serviced there other than oil changes and a new back bumper... but... time for a new battery anyway.
Yes, still sailing "Wildthing", EScow sail number H101... good memory there!

I was going to replace the battery until Mark said I was the first one he had heard of replacing the underseat battery... and I found out that the only place you could buy 'em was from GM. That kinda made me wonder 'cuz the car starts great even at 10 below.
Anyway, I had to make an appointment to have the oil changed so rather than call I stopped by the dealer. I asked the service writer about the message, he had never heard of the message. Better yet, I asked about the battery, he knew where it was, but never has seen one... hmmmm.... glad my car has never needed service other than oil changes.
Anyway, I'm renigging on my commitment to replace the battery and report back. I'm just gonna' hit the reset button after I start the car on really cold mornings.

With all of us seeing the same symptoms and getting the same results from the module replacement (NONE!!) , has anyone contacted their dealers or GM about this?
Hey ADMINS,
Howdo we go about getting this looked into?

Had the same problem last winter and a couple times this year. Again, only when very cold.
Had some other things to take care of under warrenty, and since its only one copay per visit, not item, I added it to the list.
From me service ticket:
"the Security Light comes on when starting on cold mornings. VTD reprogram to update software per TSB 00-08-56-003, per TAC. Reprogrammed VTD module with TECH 2 SCAN TOOL"
Notes: I'm not sure why the TAC reference, if there was a TSB issued. TAC are appartently the eggheads back at the factory....based on a previous service ticket.
I can confim that they reflashed something with a TECH 2, because I'm back to "driver 1" instead of JUSTIN on my DIY display.
So far, no more messages. (Fingers crossed)
