2 degrees F. today. Mine gave the service theft system, and threw in the check tire pressure for good measure. Hitting the reset took care of both....until the next time.

It sure seems to be a common glitch in the computer(my car has thrown up the Service Theft System a couple times in the past two years......but only when it'* Cold outside),....seems to have only happened when I've used the key-fob to secure the car,.....I'm thinking that the problem lurks in the fuel shut-off part of the securing process(using the key-fob to lock your car also activates a fuel shut-off solenoid[I'm pretty sure], as well as merely locking the doors and fuel filler door. Each time I've had the glitch...a simple turning off the car and restarting it,cleared the dash display/problem.......never have had to push the reset button.

i had that off and on for about a week or so since it has become cold. i took it in and the dealership replaced the security module - fixed it right up! NOT :?
i had the same message again yesterday morning on the way to INTENSE, but it was 8 deg F when i started 'er up.
i have also seen the stability message a few times but it goes away and the dealership said it was not in the memory.

Smae thing with mine. I took mine in when it was under warranty and they replaced the module too. The next week the same thing happened when it was cold out. I just cleared it on the DIC and went on with it. Still does it when it'* cold, it'* funny i was just thinking of posting this topic too.

My 2000 SSEi just started doing the "service theft" thing this week.
I was going to take it to the dealer until I did a Google search and found this Forum. The first thing I noticed about this string was that most of us posting seem to have 2000 model SSEis. The second thing I noticed is that dealers seem to be replacing a module, and that the replacement doesn't fix the problem.
So.... I'm a wondering, when my 98 Vette got to be five years old it started giving strange messages. It cost me $70 bucks at my Chevy dealer to find out my battery was getting weak. Sure 'nuf, I replaced the battery (for another $70) and the weird messages went away.
Given that we are just in our first cold snap of the season here, and given that the problem quickly goes away when the car has been running a short time, and given that these symptoms point to times when a battery is at weakest.....
I'm going to replace the battery on Monday and I will report back.
By the way... are all of you who are reporting still on the original battery like me?
Also... can't resist reporting that I just got a new C6 Vette three weeks ago, 1,260 miles and I can't get the grin off my face.
