Engine fire investigation
Not sure if this is the right place for this so feel free to move it if need be. The Chicago Tribune had an article today that said that the NHSA is investigating engine fires in 1999-2002 SSEis, GTPs and the Buick equivalents. The article said that 176,740 cars with superchargers are involved.

It'* the fusebox under the hood. Apparently it has some problem where the fuses don't quite make contact with the connectors, and it gets too hot and catches on fire. It happened to a member on here I believe. I'm not sure why they said only Supercharged cars. :?

alot of the engine fires are also due to the incorrect installation of the fuel injector O rings
also nice to know there are at least 176,xxx supercharged cars around

I know many GP'* believe the fires to be from o rings etc.. Honestly..I don't see it being a larger problem in the 00'* than any other year. Most of the engine fires I see at the yard look to have gotten the hottest in the area of the fuse box.
