HUD Dimmer
OK.. I was thinkin of this and bugged me a lil .. in Muffin'* ( Tamara'* ) Black SSEI 00 ( Crime ) the HUD stays at the same illumination when the headlights are on and off.. why'* that? Did they change it? Cause on my 97.. it'* dramatically brighter at day ( no lights on other then DRL ).. and I can see it just bout everytime ( cept when the sun is right in my eye ).. and would actually go dimmer ( like the radio ) when the headlights come on ( either manually or Twilight Sentinal ). Is this normal for a new car? or could there be possibly a loose wire connection somewhere.. if so.. which one? ( other then the one that'* controlin it.. which would be what color code and where? )

The newer ones are controlled by "ambient light" and where you want it via the adjustment ****. HUD just takes a little time to get used to. I personally like how bright it is at night. I just wish it was a bit more visible on sunny days.

So it is only controlled through the ****? ( Ambient light setting? ) My 97 has HUD and it has a lever to set the light strength.. but I can see it in broad day light ( 98% of the time ) and I can actually see it go dimmer when the headlights/marker lights all come on. ( like the radio of older cars would.. I didn't take a look at Muffins if her radio would dim or not when the driving lights come on ).
that kinda sux if that is true then.. they should've left it alone at that.. I couldn't see hers in daylight either.. and was disheartening to have to go back to useing the analog gauge. However.. her'* have a switch that allows it to go from Miles to Kilometres and will change it on the HUD and the analog speedo .. that part I"m jealous of.

The adjustment **** is in addition to the ambient light setting. To be honest, I have no idea which way or how far the display is affected by ambient light.
