Default Tilt Steering

Has anyone had any problems with their tilt? I was getting in the car today and the steering wheel was stuck in the top position. I couldn't get the lever to engage. When I got home I unscrewed the cover and was trying to get a look inside to figure it out. I was puzzled why such a simple mechanical part with no hard use could break. Finally after some jiggling around for a while, I ever so slightyly forced it toward me and it sort of popped back into position I guess, and now it'* fine. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so has it ultimately failed? I'm guessing it was just a fluke thing of getting out of whack when I pressed it getting out, but curious if something could indeed be wrong.

Are you saying I'm fat!!! I use it because sometimes I like to have it pretty low when I drive. It'* actually funny because I usually can't see the top portion of the speedometer with the wheel and my hand at the top, and for some reason it bugs my wife when I have to move my hand or duck a little to check the speed.
