2003 Bonneville SE - jerks harshly when shifting

Hello Good people of the Bonneville forums.

I am a current owner of a 2003 Bonneville SE, and I have this weird problem, well I should not really call it a problem because its not doing anything, but what “my problem” is that I hate the way this car shifts between P, R, N and D. Basically my car runs good, does not jerk when driving, changes gears smoothly, with no mechanical problems what so ever (thank you PONTIAC Gods!) but when I shift from PARK to any other gear I get this harsh kick. My rpm is low; it’* less than 1000, more like 600 on average, and my mechanic suggested to replace my FRONT LEFT TRANSMISSION MOUNT which was slightly ripped, but after doing that the situation did not improve.

Basically I was wondering if any of you have the same problem as me and if so do you have any suggestions as to how to fix the jerking?
(please exclude suggestions on: changing the mount and transmission oil)

If you cant leave a message here please do send me an email at ykdefend-car@yahoo.com

Thank you guys for your time and patience with my long and boring QUESTION.

Whoa..that'* a huge font. Please try to use the default whenever possible. One of the Mod'* will probably move this to the mechanical forum for 2000+ to give you better responses.

By the way, the tranny mount was changed, were the engine mounts checked for excessive travel?

I think it'* normal. Both our 2000 SLE and 2000 SSEi do the exact same thing. I have no idea what causes it, but you're definately not alone!

If the Bonneville is generally considered to be a luxury model of a car, why did they make it that way? or perhaps its just bad engineering?
