Heater blower is not working; It'* WINTER!!
How do I access the wires behind the climate control? Is it easy to remove that part of the dash?
The heater blower in my parent'* car is not working; the controls operate as expected but the motor does not respond. This behaviour is sparatic. It is obviously a loose connection. We experienced similar behavour with the tack - stopped working then just as sudden began operating.
It is Winter and the blower is necessary to clear the wind shield!!

there are not any wires behind the climate control. It is a ribbon-style connector. Just try pushing on the face of the climate control firmly to see if it'* loose or not. Like Haro said, there are just four tabs holding it in, no screws. If one of the tabs came loose it could cause the problems you're having possibly. If the unit is not loose, the connection is not the problem.

It seems that you are stating that pushing or seating the climate control (CC) interface into the dash seats or connects the ribbon connector as well. Is this true? I was under the impression that the ribbon was loose and had to be separately seated.
Oww, hitting just the right bump when driving will start the blower a working.

Same here...
Having the same problem with my 2002 Bonneville.
I have been able to get the blower to start up by slapping the top of the dash. Now, for the last two days, I get nothing (doesn't work).
New blower is $236 from the dealer and they say you have to pull the old motor before they can tell you which part is required.
Anyone out there know about replacing the resistor or transistor or other part on the motor without buying the dealer part?
just curious... Man, it'* cold...

blower problems
Sorry, I have the automatic climate control....
The symptom is such that the fan speed on the control panel is showing the blower running, but the blower is not coming on. It was occuring for both the air conditioning and the heater (it started acting up at the end of summer this year).
I slap the dash or slam a door and the blower starts working. The dash slap method worked for about a week and now the blower won't come on at all.
The reason I think it is the motor is that the "slap/bang" method was taught to me to check a faulty fuel pump (when the fuel pump is mounted inside the gas tank). You can actually bang on the bottom of the fuel tank and get the fuel pump to come on. I was told that it was a dead spot on the electric pump and was a sign that it was going out. So, I assumed it was the same for this blower motor.
Comments are appreciated.
Thanks,
Shawn
