Talking Got a new Bonnie a few ?

I'm happy to say we found a replacement for my wife'* 2000 with 188K. a Almost new 2004 SE with 62K!! really wanted a SLE but this was so clean I had to take it. So clean a found a Pontiac welcome CD in the glove box. This is as base as you can get. The only option is heated seats(cloth). The question is did bone stock Bonnies come with no radio controls on the steering wheel and no keyhole on the passengers door? The good is the UIM and LIM were done last year. The bad is I have 9 more common problems to go!

Boy, that does sound stock. Maybe thats what SE stands for. Stock Equipped.

You could always swap the door out with one that does have the keyed entry. Same goes for the steering wheel controls.

LOL White door for light gray one. a tan leather steering wheel for black or gray rubber one! The 2000 is and SE too but I think it has every option but heated seats and traction control.

I found this site and it looks like radio controls come with the leather steering wheel. It does have a spoiler and alloy rims. Another question would be can I take the climate control mod from the 2000 and swap it with the standard one in the 04?

My car came with one option: alloy wheels. No heated seats, steering wheel controls, or anything fancy. As low as you can go unless you want steel wheels.

As long as you are swapping a SE for a SE module, yes. I'm assuming you want black buttons if you are going for 04?

I believe the HVAC systems are different between the electronic and manual systems. Just swapping over the controller won't do anything. Unless you swap EVERYTHING over. But, after 1999 body style change, who knows.

What'* funny about my car? 1997 SE. But, it has sunroof, steering wheel controls, power antenna, electronic climate control, oh and something else I don't remember. But it seems its part SE, SLE and SEi.

You are correct Mike. The SE had manual except for possibly in the "fully loaded" package (which was pretty much an SLE with SE exterior). SLE and SSEi had the dual zone, automatic climate control and requires a completely different dash harness, additional actuators, and the temp sensors. Not exactly a fun job (believe me I have an the complete wiring minus engine harness from an SSEi sitting in a tote waiting for the day I can get to it).

So your saying my SE is really an SLE? Hmmm, cool. Wish there was something in writing somewhere that gave the specifics.

Oh, I believe you. I tried to grab the whole HUD system out of a 97 SSE Y40. What a wiring NIGHTMARE. I love wiring, but this was too much.

I remembered that my sons 97 Grand Prix blower resister went bad and that was an arm and a leg because he had climate control so that probably needs changing too. This is the wives daily driver so it what it is. So the only thing left is the lack of a key whole on the passengers door???
