Another '01 Heated Seat Problem w/ a Twist
I own a 2001 Bonneville SLE and the heated seats started acting up. I have read a few other threads about this problem, and I think that will fix part of my problem. Along with this problem, the passenger side heated seat button now controls the driver side seat and vice versa. But the heated part of the passenger seat does not work. Any insight?

Did you say the passenger side heater switch turns the DRIVERS side heat on?

Yup. And the driver'* side button tries to turn the passenger seat on, but the little yellow light just blinks a bit and turns off. This was a problem I encountered a couple years after buying the car. Worked perfectly before that.

Hmmm. I have no experience in that dept, but our heated seat guru/fixer upper Boosty should chime in soon.

My first thought is that someone reversed the pigtails when putting your center console back together. That can explain the buttons working for opposing sides.
Passenger side is probably a broken element. Or a bad relay under the seat.

Hmmm.. Never thought of that. Now that you mention it I had someone look at it that couldn't figure out the problem but the only place they checked was the center console. Thanks for your help. I'll get after you again if it doesn't work. Thanks!

Got the wires uncrossed and at least the correct button controls the correct seat.... Now off to the element. Thanks BILLBOOST37 for clearing that up.
