How is the rubber seal ripping?

Unless you have a need, this cap is never moved.

Seems like you have bigger problems then just a cap seal.

Off the cuff..if you have noticed a torn seat and loose cap twice. That seems odd to me. You aren't loosening it, and no one else is messing with your car. How did it get loose and how did that seal get ripped? I've seen 100 year old cars with the original seal.

When you push the pedal it pressurizes lines.. I'm thinking something (no ideas) is causing a problem and the pressure is coming back, popping your cap and hammering the seal. It'* infrequent since you've only noticed the cap twice.

I'm going to ask others for input on this one..it'* not really something I have lots of experience with.

could be a crimped or damaged brake line. follow your lines to all four wheels, if you have 4wheel disc, you might have ran over something that damaged a line underneath your car. There is enough pressure to pop the lid if the lines have a crimp or are completely blocked.

I chatted with a couple X sperts on it. (yeah..I said that one right)

We are at a loss and I like Chads response. Something seems wrong here and there is probably a deeper problem that'* popping the cap and tearing your seal.
