Cruise control broken/fiixed
My cruise became slow to respond to hills and re-engagements last Weds, in the first 20 minutes of a 6 hour drive. Within 10 miles it quit responding to any input. In the hotel parking lot the next morning I discovered two things. 1. The servo/module can be removed with zero tools in less than 1 minute. 2. The cloth strap that exits the module was broken.
Friday morning visit to the GM dealer turned up none within any reasonable distance, but a friendly parts guy told me about a brand new pick your own parts type junkyard full of cash for clunkers cars nearby. Paid $2 to get in, spent 2 minutes pulling one off of a Buick Rendezvous, paid the man a grand total of $24.83 and headed to the mall parking lot, where 2 minutes of install made the cruise all better. Beats $300 at the dealer.
