Default My cat died

Well after 155,000 miles, my catalytic conveter has bit the dust. :( It started with a small rattle upon a cold startup and has progressed into a constant rattle while driving. While I was changing the fuel filter, I slid up to the cat and hit it a few times and sure enough it rattled.

Now onto my question. I have looked all through the posts about high flow cats, and I am unsure which one to buy. I know that it needs to be 2.5" inlet and outlet, but there are so many models that have those specs.

Does it matter that the cat is almost directly behind the downpipe flange? Or will a exhaust shop be able to weld a universal into place with a spacer pipe?

One thing is for sure, I want to buy a Magnaflow or comparable high flow model. Please let me know what model number (ex. 94006, 94016, etc...)
Thanks in advance.

Default That'll be cap'tain

I'm 105% satisfied with the Magnaflow 94106 -- 2.5 center inlet/outlet and slightly longer. Have the shop get it closer to the rear O2 so you don't trigger an 'Insufficient Catalyst' code.

I paid $52 on fleaBay for mine just a few weeks ago; and installation was free from one of my coworkers husband'* shop

this is your best option: http://hoganperformance.com/CC1.htm

if you get a generic high flow cat it will be hard to install because it needs the flange.

(perfect time to upgrade to headers

Thanks for the info. I was worried about that flange with a universal cat.
