opinions on ebay drilled/slotted rotors
in the market... for when i put my ceramic pads on...

just need to know if i will notice a difference over the el cheapos at the parts store

From what I have pick up around here unless they have the holes cast into them when they are made they will be much weaker; ie more prone to go kaboom. Not to mention all those holes = less area for your pads to grab.

haro I just ordered new front and rear rotors both slotted from SP SP Performance Rotors and Hawk HPS pads for a happy price inbetween those two. There going in saturday I'll post up my results.
Want to say cost was $180ish for rear rotors and pads, fronts are 200 for the set as well. I asked for Ceramic pads but the owner talked me out of them, a semi-metallic pad is the way to go these are carbon/ceramic/ferror and whole $2 bucks cheepier.

NEVER drilled, and NEVER eBay unless you KNOW the manufacturer is legitimate, and trust the seller.
Slotted from a GOOD manufacturer is worth it.
FYI, drilled rotors don't increase warping issues, they cause cracking and breaking issues. Drilled rotors are for one-time use on the track, and for street use are for ricers that don't know any better. On a REAL car, drilled rotors are a bomb waiting to go off unless the rotor diameter is increased enough to overcome the issues, and the holes are CAST into the blanks, rather than drilled.
Remember that HOLES decrease SURFACE area as well, and will decrease braking performance unless rotor diamter is increased also.

It'* all in the quality of the rotor. You can buy good drilled rotors that don't crack but they are made from specialized (expensive) material and have specially drilled and reamed holes. If you can eliminate the tiny scratches inside the drill hole (electropolishing) and round off all corners without creating any stress riser points, cracking caused by the heating and cooling cycle will be reduced. As you can imagine, this is a very costly rotor. At least $500 apiece.
