Car veers to left when going over bumps?????
I did search for an answer, however I can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for.
I've noticed that when I go over a bump in the road, more specifically when the right rear tire hits a bump, the car will jerk to the left. I'm pretty sure it'* a bad shock in the right rear. I'm wondering if this could have something to do with the load leveling system? Thanks for your help
The car is a 2002 SE with 127k miles

The load leveling system would effect both shocks not just one.
If you push down on the side with the suspect poor shock it will spring up faster than you push it down. Should have a solid dampening feel as you check all four corners.

If you push down on the side with the suspect poor shock it will spring up faster than you push it down. Should have a solid dampening feel as you check all four corners"
I did exactly that and the shock really doesn't seem to be loose feeling on the right side of the car. It'* just that I can't explain why the car jumps to the left when I go over a pothole or bump on the right side of the road.
Also I was looking at some of posts about the load leveling system and I am not hearing the air pump cycle when the car is started or when the ignition is turned on.
I took a trip in the car this past weekend and the trunk was pretty well loaded. I never once heard that pump kick in, like I usually do. On the other hand, the car did not seem to be sitting unnaturally low in the back when loaded down either??? So.....

I had a similar problem with mine when I first got it. A 4 wheel alignment helped a lot, and new tires away from the Goodyear RSA took care of the rest. The back end would kick out to the left when going over sharp bumps, like poorly done manhole (is personhole P.C.? ) covers.

Sounds exactly like what mine is doing. We moved to Milwaukee about 2 months ago from Atlanta, and I never noticed the problem down there. However, the roads here in Milwaukee are HORRIBLE! So I can see why this problem would just show up now.
I'm still miffed about the load leveling system not doing it'* thing???
I'll have to look into that this weekend........

Update on car'* squirllyness
Ok. Here'* an update on this problem. I had my wife drive the car today and I followed her and watched the rear suspension. Everytime she hit a bump, the right rear tire would bounce up and down, like it had a bad shock. After we got back home, I removed the right rear tire and checked all the air lines that run from the pump to the shocks. No problems there.
I then disconnected the level sensor from the linkage rod on the left side and within a few seconds, the pump would kick in and start filling the shocks. So, the system is apperently working, but the car still seems to have a bad right shock.
My question is, if the shocks are filled with air, how can one be bad???? :?:

Don't forget the rear adjustment link, it is the bar that holds the rear toe in place. They can cause the same concern. With car on ground, crawl under and check both sides.
There are tie rod ends on them and they like to go bad and cause the rear tire to move around over bumps and usually make a rattle noise also.
