Removing the knee pad
How do I remove the knee pad under the steering wheel? I have searched here and have found out how to get the trim panel off (the one that covers the stereo/instrument cluster), and I can see how the under side dash cover would come off, but I can't figure out how to get the knee pad off. It seems really flimsy and I don't want to just go in there and start yanking on it.
Has anyone taken this off before. Going to be installing and aftermarket remote start/alarm and having the extra elbow room would greatly improve my chances of success.

having trouble understanding you....
the black piece that is way at the bottom that covers the wiring comes out with a few screws
the interior colored piece that sits below the steering wheel that covers the bottom of the column, just pulls straight out, no screws

The black one I get, it was the light tan piece that I was worried about. So I just pull on it, out toward the seat or down toward the floor.
Thanks for the help too.
