Default Replacement Battery

I'm not having any problems, but I am curious about this battery that sits under the rear seat. It appears that you can't pick this up anywhere but the dealer. (I even looked at better battery shops.)

How much is that going to hurt when we need to start replacing these in the 2000 and newer H bodies?

Do you think it will always be a GM exclusive?

How many months are they rated for?

Seat warmers?

Power module for the powered seats?

On a new car, your dealer would know for sure

That is true. It also helps a little with the weight distribution.

I would assume the battery is a 60 month battery. Since is so well protected, you may get more, but I wouldn't push it. Five years is a long time and Bonnie'* have a pretty heavy-duty electrical system. As far as a replacement being available, it will just take some time before OEM'* start having a large enough demand to justify making and stocking the newer sizes.
