oil pressure and other problem
Hello all,
I have a 2001 SLE.
I changed my oil two weeks ago, and noticed yesterday that my oil pressure gauge is pegged out at 120. I checked the oil level and it is just a millimeter over full. I understand a quick check for this problem is a mechanical gauge connected to the engine, but I dont know where to get one or where to connect it to. If anyone thinks it is the sending unit, can you tell me exactly where to find it on the engine?
I also have that intermediate steering shaft 'crunch' when I turn and was offered to hav eit fixed by greasing for $60. I am currently living with it. Can a novice grease it, and how?
Also, what is that 'air compressor' sound coming from the rear end? It is almost unnoticeable to everyone else except me.
Thanks,
Tony

It sounds like oil presure sending unit has died (common problem).
The rear compressor is your Electronic Level Control system. You have a built in air compressor to keep the rear of the car level.
Search for the steering lube, its not hard to do.
