I wish I knew the answer to that. On my 02 SSEi - it was on the passenger side back side of the block - it looked like it had an additional part to 'relocate' it for some reason. I think it was a tight fit between it and the cv joint on passenger side.

I just replaced mine yesterday and it took care of the problem. bought it a www.gmparts direct.com
Part Number 12584940 and I paid $36.56 plus shipping. Dealer was alot more.
I had the car put on a lift and it was easy to get to from the back.

What we need is a OIl Preasure Sending Unit.
The dealer wants $70
You can get it at GM Parts Direct: Your direct source for Genuine GM Parts for $36.00. (I just ordered one)
I found this information out on the common problem thread ......check out the thread on common problems as it is excellent.

I put in a AC/Delco dealer oem unit and it
went out in 3 days
I went to advance auto parts and had them match pep boys price for a Borg Warner one for $34.89 and it seems to be doing ok.
I would suggest going with the aftermarket one from my short experience. Seems to be working better. It will save you money and work better IMHO
I believe that there may be a fault with these sensors from the dealer. The parts guy at pontiac said he replaces these all the time.

Just got back from putting over 1000 miles on the 03 Bonneville. Oil pressure gauge has been reading two clicks from the 120 mark the whole time. Seemed a little on the high side but I figured if it was really that high it might be spraying some oil out a gasket or two. Thanks for the heads up on what parts to change.

Changed it out yesterday. I thought a rag would be enough to catch the oil that would spill. Make sure you put a oil pan under it. Not too much but enough to make a mess. Glad I had a big piece of cardboard under it. Here is a picture of the new one and the old one in the back ground.
I used a 27 mm deepwell socket and small extension to get to it. The socket and extension fit over the top of the axle and brought it out just perfect for the ratchet.

I had the same problem. Autozone cheap fix. Sender is right near the filter. If you combine the sender swap with an oil change it will add 2 minutes of labor.
