Default 02 SSEi w/88K tranny flush or not?

Considering doing a shift kit, filter and flush and shift kit and replacing with synthetic tranny fluid.

I have seen some posts about not doing a flush because it could cause more harm than good.

Any thoughts about my situation.

Don

I would do a fluid and filter change with your shift kit. Not so much the flush

No flushy! Just filter and fluid. Use Dexron III tranny fluid.

While a flush shouldn't be bad. I'd do the self done service of dropping the pan, filter and fluid only. Also...I wouldn't recommend synthetic.. it'* probably too good for our cars and the extra slippery additives are counter productive for the clutches gripping.

Personally I like the Autozone Coastal brand. It tends to be thicker and stick to the trans parts better for good lubrication.

Filter and Fluid only IMHO.

I agree with BILLBOOST37 on not using the synthetic.
