I've read on other forums that people get larger filters, but I don't really know what the difference would be other than more oil being filtered at once. As far as which filter I use, I like purolator because its cheap (3 dollars on sale at the local autoparts store, and 5 dollars on amazon if you like the idea of having them delivered) and supposed to be pretty good quality. Thats a whole lot cheaper than the mobile and k&n alternatives around here. As well, its easy to find the filter when you use a purolator because its yellow.

I use STP filters because my brother recommended them.He used to be the manager of a an auto parts wholesaler and said that STP was better than FRAM.

Keep in mind that aome companies switch the oem manufacturer or their filters without notice. A good amount of these brands don't make their own, but instead sign a contract with other manufacturers, like ACDelco and maybe STP. That means, they could switch from a good oem to bad oem (like fram at anytime). I've done some research, google "good oil filter and there should be lots of info, as well as look up the subject on Bob is the Oil Guy (I swear I'm not here to advertise that site, its just a wealth of knowledge about car maintenence),
