SC Noise
I have started to get a chattering/ / moaning noise from somewhere in the area of my SC nose. I pulled the SC belt off and the noise went away. I can't tell if this is coming from one of the idler pulleys or from the SC nose. The long screwdriver to the ear thing is not working and I don't have a sound scope.
If I try to wiggle the SC pulley there is a very slight amount of movement, but I don't know is thats normal or not.
From reading other posts, my fear is that the SC coupler is bad, but I don't know how to determine for sure what it is. Is there a way to find out for sure?
When the coupler goes bad, what does it sound like?
If the coupler is bad, what kind of job is it to do and how much does it cost?
I wish I would have known about this 2 weeks ago when I had the SC off to replace my LIM gasket. . . . . .
(Sorry for putting so many questions in one post)

The sound you are describing coincides with a bad coupler. Intense offers a kit for the coupler change that includes a beefed up coupler, GM gasket maker to reseal the nosedrive and SC oil. You save a few bucks buying it all together in the kit.

Do you have to pull the entire supercharger to replace the coupler, or can you just pull the nose by itself? I hate the idea of pulling the whole thing off again.

you move the Alt to the side
drain the SC oil
and remove the 8-10 bolts....there are 2 that are on the bottom of the SC that you can get in there with a shallow or a universal also works great in that situation
and dont forget the Bolt that goes straight down into the LIM
