hello out there heres the thing im looking at a 2000 ssei 100,000 miles got a mis fire code cyl 1, and i have white smoke coming out exhaust thinking more than likely head gasket but is there anything out of the ordenary with the ssei that could cause me a bigger headace
Not likely the head gasket, they just don't go out. Pull the plug and inspect it. The plug may be fowled, the wire may be bad, that coil may be bad but that generally makes 2 cylinders fail. Could be a bad injector in that cylinder
Does the white smoke have a sweet smell to it like Glycol? That would be your indication that the head gasket has gone South, but not likely in these cars. There is always the possibility of a LIM gasket failure. Not a difficult job to do if you have some experience with tools and the time.
