Default Service Stability System light...

Here lately the "Service Stability System" light will come on in my Bonne or I'll be driving along on a dry, straight road and all of the sudden LO TRAC light will appear and the brakes will engage as my foot'* on the gas while the "Stability System Active" indicator appears. Anyone have this issue? What was the problem and how much was the fix? I took it to a Meineke, they ran a diagnostic and found no codes or anything. Where should I look next? I'm trying to avoid a dealership but....

Any help is much appreciated...

I had the same symptoms on my wife'* 99 GMC Jimmy. It ended up being a wheel speed sensor. As for the scanning I think they need to have a series 2 scanner.

Thanks a bunch... I just saw on 2000-2005 Common Problems thread that it could also be something else. Do you know the pricing for a WSS? How difficult is it to replace on your own?

Default Also...

My Bonne has also been sounding "whiny" lately...like the blower is whistling or whirring when I'm on the gas and fades out when I let off. Especially between 65-80MPH...possible problem? Any solutions? Costs?

I don't remember. The dealer did it. If you do a search in the 00-05 forum for "Service Stability System" you'll get a lot of hits.

EDIT:How many miles on your car?

Probably another 118k. These 3.8s are dam near bulletproof! Ever changed your SC oil?

Default SC Oil

That'* really good to know!!

Yep, I did get the SC Oil changed about 10 minths ago. I haven't had the tranny fluid replaced though. Should I do a full replacement or should I do the flush and fill?

Flushing has always been a bit of a risk.

So, full replacement is better huh? Cool! I'll get this done also. I want to keep this car as long as possible so...any tips for preventative maintenance are much appreciated. I can't believe I almost forgot I was a member of this forum. It'* proving to be very useful. Thanks!!
