Default Rattling type noise when going over broken pavement. Column bearing?

Alrighty here goes. I have a 2003 bonneville sle. i bought it at the beginning of this year with approx 32k miles on it. ever since ive owned this car ive been replacing parts that keep showing signs of age or wear. but ive always complained about this rattling/rumbling/chuckle type noise over broken pavement that seems to be felt/heard in steering column area. ive replaced rear shocks, and mounts. front trans mount, sway bar bushings and stabilizer links. and of course the intermediate steering shaft to the new design not just greased and it got a rack and new tie rod ends. now the struts seem to be the originals as well as the mounts and i do have a rubbing/squawking type noise from the right front strut when i turn the wheel to the right. i believe this to be strut mount/ bearing issue, somebody please let me know if they can attest to this. but this noise came long after the chuckle and not from the same area. now...heres the question, i searched the internet and found something about lower steering column bearing issues on a cadillac seville forum that applies up to 2002 or so and has the same symptoms im experiencing. so i checked for play in the lower column shaft by grabbing it and shaking it up and down and sure enough its got play and it makes the dreaded noise. i compared shafts to my dads 2005 sle and its tight and he has no noise complaints. so im 99.9% positive this is where my concern is coming from. my question is does anybody else on here have the same condition and any ideas on how to replace the bearing or if you can replace the bearing? please help me!!
