Default Air inflator

Got a 2000 SSEI. Was playing around with the air inflator in the trunk and found out through the owners manual that there should be a hose with a gage and instructions.
Anybody know where these things would be? what do they look like? If I don't have them what'* the part number to order them?

They are accessories that come in a leather bag that can be velcroed to the carpet in the trunk. You cant miss it unless you dont have it. There are flares, med kit, and some other stuff in it as well. I don't know what the part number is, sorry.

If you bought the car used it is probably gone.

It is usually velcroed to the side of the trunk but can be attached anywhere inside the trunk. You really can't miss it unless its not there. I can take a picture if you like.

I guess I was lucky. Both of my cars had theirs.

If you don't see this in your bag in your trunk full of goodies, then you don't have it.

I'm so mad I didn't get that! Mine was a lease so I'm kind of surprised it was gone (shouldn't the "owner" have to return the car after the lease is up with everything that was in it new?). I found a hose (got lucky at a dealership that had one someone never picked up...only $10! ), but I was told that it is not possible to order them anymore . Do the 2003s come with them too? If they do I don't see why you couldn't just order their kit.

At any rate, I've heard Willwren mention that he made one...ask him how if you can't find one. Good luck.

Whn we bought our SSEi new in 2000 it didn't have one in it. Well about a week after we got the car we were reading (I think in Car & Driver) and it said they are all supposed to have this kit. So we brought the car back to the dealer and asked them why it didn't have one in it, and they said that they don't keep them in the cars because people steal them on test drives, so they don't put them in the cars until they sell them, and they forgot to put ours in.

When I bought my car from the local pontiac dealer by my house, one of the tech'* hanging around the parts counter was laughing about the fact that they routinely steal these and the SSEi floormats, and sell them to owners who should have gotten one with the car as standard equipment. I asked how much, and it was over $300.

I found one online (Parts at Brasington, I think) for $150 or so. Expensive still, but nice to have. You'll probably want to check out walmart'* hardware department (or sears, or home depot) and for a couple of bucks get yourself the nozzles that attach to the air hose so you can use it on an air mattress, raft, beachball, or whatever. Otherwise, all you can do is inflate tires with it. I was really surprised also that it didn't come with jumper cables.
