Default 2000 SSEI

I don't know if I'm missing something, but my SSEI does not seem to have a under hood light,-and the other thing I find weird it has no cruise control indicator-display light. Anybody know if these things can be added on?

I don't think you are missing anything. At least, I certainly hope you are not. My 2000 SSEi does not have an under-the-hood light or a cruise control indicator light either. Now, unless we are both missing them, I think our cars are normal.

Your car is not supposed to have those. I don't think GM has EVER put a cruise control indicator light in any of their cars. As for the hood light, GM is just cheap. Think about it, if they don't put a hood light in the cars they save lets say $.50. So $.50, and 40,000 (these are random numbers off the top of my head) bonnevilles a year, that is $20,000 they just saved by not putting in a hood light, it is the same thing for the trunk SSEi badge, it saves them money, so they don't put it on the 2000+.

the 'cruise' light for the most part is a Buick/ Olds thing.. My 88 LeSabre had a green 'cruise' light in the dash cluster when it was set, so does the Riviera... The light isn't really needed, I just like having it.

GM has put cruise control indicator lights in some of their cars. For instance, my 2002 Grand Am GT has a cruise control indicator light. Actually, I even like it.

GM doesn't put a light under the hood of the SSEi because you shouldn't have to service it in the dark or at all outside of a lighted garage.

.....and cruise control is only used by women, who ignore lights anyhow.

....just kidding gals.

What are you talking about? Cruise control is the easiest way to maintain 127 mph so the governor doesn't kick in, without it it would be very hard to maintain 127mph without hitting the governor.

What are you talking about.....Not hard at all, as long as you don't floor it so it kicks down into 3rd gear.
