Squeaky Brakes
Whenever i come to a stop sometimes, or go really slow, the brakes sqeak/grind it sounds like how when a bus comes to a stop, its a really loud whine i dont know how to describe it.
I got the brakes done about 6 months ago and the local shop i got it done at said the breaks they put on naturally squeak sometimes. What could be the problem, should it be time for some new pads or rotors?

Brakes are not intended to squeak unless they need to be replaced or you have some debris under the pads. Throw the car in reverse and back up at a good clip and slam on the brakes. Drive normally and see if they still squeak. If they do, take the tires off, pull the calipers off and inspect the pads for any debris in them.

I experienced squeaky brakes from use of cheap rotors and pads. If the shop installed cheap Chinese like parts, good chance that is the root of the problem and the only real fix is to install parts that meet standard. The brake shop is giving you a line when they state the squeak is normal. It may mean they use poor machined parts and have a excuse to try and justify the noise.
What I have done to prevent future squeaky brakes is to use brake parts exclusively from raybestos. They are sold direct or at Rock Auto.

A process of elimination
A.>check pad indicators
B>Rotor glazing or metalic buildup in pads [sometimes eliminated by the backup trick or sandpapering/sanding the rotors
C/ Caliper slides >>If there is any play in the wheel bearings, it causes the rotors to very side to side , which moves the pad/caliper to slide causing chirp>. eliminiated by lubricating the caliper slide mounting points as well as ugypugy [membrane] on the inner and outer pad contact points
