Actual Cost to Achieve 400 Crank HP?
Anyone out there that can give me a no kidding real estimate as to how much I'd be looking at to turn a stock (except the upgraded rotors/pads/18" Tires and Chrome Rims) 240 Crank HP 01 SSEi into a 400 HP Crank car??? I'd really like to know!
Thanks,
Jason

Only two of us have achieved this goal I think. The first is our INTENSE drag car, BADSSEi and has way more money into it then you would probably dream of putting into yours, It makes 630 crank horsepower.
The other is my 00 SSEi which puts down about 423 horsepower at the crank. You can look at my mod list to see everything installed.
As for the price do you want labor included or just parts? Motor work to get to that point or transwork as well that you will need to hold it all?

400 Crank Horsepower
All inclusive price. Parts, labor, and the necessary mods to make it all work and work well. Thanks!

Ballpark in parts I would say about 8,000 not including tax
Labor would be about 2,100 not including fluids or tax.
Again, check my mod list of the list of items. If your serious about moving forward I can break it down for you.

I am serious...
Rogue,
I have a 2001 SSEi. I've been wanting to starts mods forever now but just haven't ever gotten around to it not to mention I haven't tinkered enough to be able to do the installs myself and our cars aren't exactly Mustangs when it comes to avaliabiliy of mods. I have 95K on my Bonny and everything is stock except for the following things:
Tint
18" Chrome Eco Mia Rims
255/45/ZR18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/*
K&N Drop-In Air Filter
K&N Oil Filter
Right now I have 5,000 for mods, etc. I'm active duty Air Force stationed in Boston and just moved out here from Los Angeles. I've been a member of this site since 2002 and would love to separate my car from the "pack". I understand that you and Scott have rediculous fast cars in part because you guys are Intense and are able to do your own mods, etc. I looked at your mods and honestly I don't full understand the applicability of each mod with respect to how much it does for the car in terms of power.
The reason I used the 400HP as a reference point is because last year I had thought about trading in my Bonny for an '05 GTO but decided against it. I'm planning on putting in a Pioneer AVIC N-2 DVD/Navigation system in next week and would love to add a dash kit like in the '04/'05 Bonnies and get a two-tone leather as well.
However for the power piece I'm not sure where to start. I know that on the intense site you guys have the Stage 3 package but that is priced at $1899 without labor and that only nets a 94 CHP gain which would put me at 334...not enough I also can't bring my car out to Ohio as much as I'd like to. Anyway, as you can see I am COMPLETELY serious about doing some serious modding so please get back to me.
Thanks!
Jason

Why not pick up a turbo kit for the engine, that would add some serious HP gains to the engine. But then you'd have to think about rockets and PRs maybe a comp cam, and def a new PCM, amoungst other stuff im forgetting.

Turbo? Interesting...
Thanks Sol. I just looked at the site. Installation is free?? Can you tell me more about the turbo, the required mods, intercooler, etc. and the total cost and HP gains associated with it? I'd be very interested.
Thanks!
