Default N/A 3800 II with */C top swap

ok ive got a series 2 na 3800 with a top swap now my friends are concerned of my bottomed will not hold up as i have a lead foot. how much can the stock na bottom hold up? on a stock tune vs a tuned setup. this is my DD and im not looking for racecar status i just want a little more speed and power out of my DD .

also im having issues with the belt drive system

ive swapped all my n/a system over now im having problems with where the sc parts go as i got the swap with a box of parts and have yet to find a proper front of engine view pic where i can see components and bolt locations and so on. also my na icm will not bolt onto my sc bracket. it seems im missing something as the bracket for the icm/dog bone has only 3 bolt holes and my NA icm bracket uses the six bolts that hold the coils down to also hold the icm down. am i missing some sort of plate?

another thing. i have several idler pulleys and dont know which go where as the way that would make sense for it to go the pulleys rub on the bracketry.

Where does this go?

Now this is the way the pulleys make sense but the non ribbed pulley rubs on the bracket.

WHAT AM I MISSING
NA 3800

SC 3800

This is where im stuck at currently

OH also do i need a gtp bay wireharness as i was told by a guy that does swaps in grand prix often and he said my na engine bay harness would work with the sc23800 but im not sure how as theres a vac solenoid for the sc blow off thats not on my harness and idk where the map sensor goes.

Is there a highly detailed swap thread that can help me?

Your luckier than me. I'm trying to find current info to swap v6 to v8 in my 2002 s10, but not too many people have done it with the 2002'*.

Anyhoo. I'll answer your last question while my video uploads...
Boost valve solenoid requires 2 wires. 1 GND and one from the PCM. Which pin, I do not know with your year/make. Basically, you have to ADD one wire to your PCM for the boost solenoid. And yes, your stock N/A harness will work fine. Mine did.

I see an issue. In your 2nd picture, your ICM bracket is painted red. On your harness, you will find an eyelet wire that needs to be mounted on one of the bolts for that bracket. I couldn't get a shot of it in the video. But either way, you need to scrap away the paint for a good connection. It'* a ground for the ICM.

Normally, your MAP sensor mounts in a different location on the N/A vs the */C. If you plan on placing it in the L67 STOCK location, you will need to extend the harness for the MAP sensor by 8 inches or so. Or, you can place it wherever you like, because its only 1 single vac line that connects to it.

I just took this video of the pulley'* for ya. Hope it helps.

YES i know of the ground. the backside of the bracket is bare where it mates to the block and i will clean the mating surface for the icm and ground but im still stuck as to how my NA icm will mount to this SC bracket as like i said there is something missing and i dont know what.

i figured as much about the map but im not sure where it went stock and dont want to scratch my head down the road with a un-locateable vac leak. ive only messed with na 3800s ive nvr touched a sc3800 or have more than just glanced at one in person a few times.

im currently still in need of a ssei pcm or gtp pcm to put in my car but ive been wary as if i remember correctly aren't they vin coded to the vehicle and other modules vin coded to it? meaning they would refuse to communicate until new pcm vin is re-coded to my vin?

where should i go or what should i look for to find out about the pcm pin i need for the sc control?

as for your s10 it should be simple... 02 if i remember correctly is spider inection correct?

just find the equivalent spider injected 5.7 engine and pcm as the only difference should be the # of cylinders.

should be like the tbi set up s10s ive done tons of those swaps and all i did was change the computers after the swaps everything was plug and play

i doubt the tech or sensors are different from an 02 4.3 to a 02 5.7

just ask here: S10 Forums - Powered by vBulletin

ive been a member there for years and was once veeeerrry helpful to me lol when i had a couple s10s

zzperformance.com has a kit for 3800 swaps...

Easy Performance - L67 Swap Kit #EP-L36-L67SWAP

The N/A MAP sensor mounts to a bracket that mounts to the backside of the supercharger.

I'm not sure of the years, but your right, PCM'* and BCM'* need to be VIN matched to work correctly. Considering your car is down right now, why not send your PCM for supercharging tune?

BTW, my s10 is pretty much done now...

Yea, it'* not cheap anymore to have PCM'* done anymore. I'm going to the junkyard tomorrow. If I find a */C PCM, I will try and get it.
