30,000mi = New tranny? (long)
I was going out of town for Thanksgiving yesterday and wile pulling some hills my transmission all of a sudden started shifting very, very hard. I pulled over in a rest area and even while going very slow the 1 to 2 shift jerked very hard. So I thought I would need to get a tow home. I was 140 miles away from home. I let it cool down and thought I'd see how it would do when cooled off. I started to drive and it seemed ok. So I drove very slow and tried to let it shift the least possible. It did fine the rest of the way home. I did not push it and just tried to make it home which I did without any problems. I will take it in to the dealer on Monday and have them check it out.
It never threw a code but I know sometimes there can still be a code in the PCM. Now I have the Intense pcm which I will remove when I take it in. Will they be able to find out what happened without the pcm that was in the car when it happened? I would leave it in but donm't want to risk them flashing it or saying that because of the aftermarket pcm they won't honor the warranty.

This makes me wonder if its just your pcm that is calling for really hard shifts. Cause low throttle, even with my shift kit, it isn't destructive. Your mileage is low enough that your trans is probably still in really good shape, but unfortunately the 4t65-E has gotten alot of bad rep due it not being as reliable as the 60-E. I would also drop the pan to see how much, if any, clutch material is in there.

I would be inclined to install the stock PCM now and drive the car over the weekend to rule out any potential problems with the Intense PCM.

I just de-modded everything except for the pulley....I have no way to pull the hub off and don't want to risk damaging the snout. Car seems to run fine, but I think that'* because it'* not under a load. It actually runs smoother and quiter with the stock airbox and PCM in. Still has good pick up and everything. Not sure on how to go about duplicating the problem though :?: My warranty is up in February.......

Our transmission did the exact same thing when we got the car at 55k, and it did it to my wife several times and it took about 2 weeks for it to do it on me because it was so it and miss, but ours made the cel come on. Luckily it was under warranty because the dealership pulled the tranny out and had it overhauled and solenoids replaced, about 14-1500 worth of work.
