Is the sound from the engine bay or suspension?

Is it a humming noise, a whiring noise, whistling?

Initially my thoughts as well, but wanted to confirm where exactly it was coming from.

I only wish my symptoms were more along the line of "class descriptions"

I agree with Bill. Those are the classic symptoms for a bad hub.
