Hi all,
I'm new to these forums but am enjoying the maturity here compared to CamaroZ28.com already. It looks like I'm trading my '97 Z28 w/stroker, heads, cam, gears, etc. for an '02 SSEi black, loaded, w/9500mi. Wed. night.
I was just looking for anything I should be leary of before I commit. Like when I bought my Z, I knew it had the infamous intake leak.
Supposedly, the previous owner traded it in on an '03 so he could get... get this... XM radio :?:
Thanks for all your help and I look forward to modding it a little at a time. I made the mistake of going nuts on my Z and ended up with a 400rwhp beast that my wife wouldn't ride in and I couldn't get to pass emissions, and I won't go through that again.
Thanks again,
Rich

Well I'm pretty new myself, bought an 01 ssei w 18K. Id highly recommend taking it for a test ride on the highway, check for vibrations, other than that, look for sign of water leakage in the trunk, like under the spare. Other than that enjoy! I know I am!

The 2K+ Bonnies were prone to have warped rotors. Get it up to speed and apply the brakes lightly looking for vibration. Also the trunk seals have been known to leak water, might take it to a car wash and spray down the back side looking for leaks.

Your not the first to come over from there. But the SSEi is the wifes car I'm just driving and likeing it while my IROC sit and waits for me to fix it'* intake leak.
2 bad but new inj O rings leaking air and 1 dead LT1 inj. It'* throwing off the O2 .
So much the headers glow if I leave it run.
