Default Leather seat cleaning

I was curious to what you all use to clean the leather seats in your cars? mine has the charcoal grey interior and I'd like to clean them up a bit but was afraid of what to use. I dont want to ruin them. anything that cleans and keeps them soft?

Leather is leather. If it truly is real leather. Any of the off the shelf leather cleaner/protector should be fine. Otherwise, you could have the fake leather(vinyl)

I've been using Meguiars Gold Class. It'* creamy and leaves a softness after using it. I had tried another name brand cleaner and leather care product. I noticed it was giving a color onto the wiping towel the same as the tan color on the leather on my leSabre Limited seat. There'* a stain used, I assume, to give the leather the color. This product was taking that off with its stronger cleaning ability.

So I went back to my Meguiars and using a soft toothbrush to rub into the creases to get at the dirt collecting there. Doesn't remove the color.

Very few (if any) leather seats are completely leather. If you read the promotional literature for any car with leather seats, it is described as leather seating surfaces. Only the panels that contact your butt and your back are leather. Everything else is vinyl.

Try "Lexol". You can get it at the wal-marts, autozones etc.

I have used Lexol and found it works well. The other guys are right, only part of the seats are leather. I have also heard that the leather my be treated with a type of urethane to protect it and there is no need to use specialty products on it?

The key is to keep it conditioned so it doesnt crack. Go to your local Tractor Farm Supply or equivelent that sells equine gear and get Saddle cleaner and conditioner. My mom has horses and Ive found that the stuff she uses for the saddles works the best and last a long time.
