Sorry for being a jerk. I was at somewhat of a loss with the terminology used. To clarify this whole thing, we are talking about the amber security light on the dash, correct? It is imperative to have accurate information to help in resolving the problem. Name calling even in jest will yield little help from this sector.

only kidding MarkWB but yea, that'* what I was talking about, Bill; I'll call the dealership later to see if they had an extra w/ this car (I do believe they come with two?) if not, I'll be more than glad to get one off of you.

That is correct. If you purchase new remote transmitters from gm dealer, or ebay, the gm dealer will have to encode the new transmitters. I once had a similar problem with that battery clip breaking off the circuit board, you almost need to be a watch maker to solder at that level. I ended up just throwing it away. You may have that skill to solder, that would be up to you It may be worth your while, mista, to take BillBoosts advice and get new transmitters. As for the Security light, it should flash as you open the door if your ignition is off. When you lock the door with the power door lock switch while the door is open, the Security light should illuminate, then once the door is closed, the Security light should remain lit for approximately 30 seconds then extinguish. This is indication that the Theft Deterrent System is active. If the Security light comes on for one minute then shuts off with the ignition on, the security system has detected a problem.
