thank you all for your input and help. I have gotten the car fixed by Mr. Transmission. Here'* a list of the parts that were said to be replaced:

-Rebuilder Banner Kit -Filter -Steels,Input, -Drum,Input, -Modulator, -EPC Solenoid, -Switch,Manifold Pressure, -4th Clutch Start, -Torque Converter, -Fluid

Grand Total for Labor, Parts, and Taxes = 2148.35

They said it comes with a 12month/12000 mile warranty, but I'm sure it'* silently included with the total.

Ouch. Did they say why the torque converter was replaced? The EPC is replace just about every time these transmissions are opened up. A real weak point, so better to replace and not real expensive. Not sure what a 4th clutch start is, perhaps 4th gear input shaft, ya, a new hardened one is a good idea. I see they have steels, but I hope they also changed the clutch plates. That price is about right for a transmission shop. A lot of time goes in to rebuilding them.

I can't remember the reason the torque was replaced. I was too blown away by the price. But, good to know that I didn't get completely screwed. My car was a rental car before I purchased it. So I'm sure you know how those are ran. I had the car since feb 09 and this is the 1st major problem besides a battery and mount.

I just find it odd the TC was changed, it may have been going out. The price is a bit of a shock, but not really to out of line. Hopefully you will have no other major problems. But if you do, be sure to ask us.
