Default keyless entry remote

my wife keeps accidently hitting the trunk release botton on the key fob for the SSEi while its in her purse and the other day it happened and the trunk opened while it was raining, would it b possible to swap the electronics of the fob from the bonne into a fob from a 2000 silverado, and not have a trunk release button?

This probably isn't necessary. Just mention that she should remove the 3 wallets, 2 pair of shoes, 5 pair of sunglasses and the kitchen sink. This should free up enough space so the button doesn't keep getting pushed.

And yes, I am just kidding!

I keep setting off the alarm when the keys are in my pocket. I'm thinking of taking it apart and putting some tape over the carbon button.

you could just block off that button somehow. take it apart and see exactly what it looks like... i can't remember. but if you can get the other remote for free, go for it.

I was cursing that thing too last week. This post reminded me to take care of it before it happens again.
A couple layers of Darcy'* tape (or other) on the circuit board is all it takes.
