Default Dash Lights

I noticed last evening that my booster guage is only half lighted? There must be a light burned out behind. Does anyone know if these cars have replaceable lights behind the dash or is the instruement cluster all one package?

Hopefully this is a warranty issue.

Thanks

Should be surface-mount LED'* on the 00+ Bonnevilles, not easily replaceable without a soldering iron. Someone else had the same problem a couple months back, and had to replace his cluster.

Go warranty.

I had my lights out out behind the Oil Pressure and 1/2 the Tachometer. Had to replace the cluster, it was under warranty though.

Now today, my steering wheel "preset" button no longer advances the CD'* - I can't believe this is all happening to a new car and the thought of the dealer taking my dash and steering wheel apart sure does not excite me!

I lost several backlights on my cluster a few months ago and was told that they were LED'*, and could not be replaced.

I called a shop called Southern Electronics (www.instrumentclusters.com) that specialized in repairing clusters, and they told me that the lights were NOT leds, but rather normal bulbs that are just soldered in. They can replace all of the bulbs for about $200 plus shipping to Richmond, VA.

The other option is to replace the entire cluster, which is an easy job, but if you go used note that your car'* mileage will not transfer to the replacement cluster....which is odd. The odometer mileage is stored in the cluster memory.

So, I dedided to just live with a few burned out bulbs for awhile.
