I never let mine get below 25 %, however, last time I flashed the bios in the PCM I got a DIC message that said "CHANGE OIL NOW!". So eventually it will yell at you

When I swapped my pcm out the same thing happened, I dont much pay attention to it for oil changes but nice to look at once in a while.

I wonder when the DIC begins to flash. When I first got my Bonne it was at 6% and flashing. Needless to say I changed the oil right away. Still, I wonder when it is supposed to come on...

Exerpt from page 2-92, 2001 Owners Manual: When the oil life index is less than 10%, an ENGINE OIL CHANGE SOON message will be displayed and the oil life display will show OIL LIFE CHANGE.

Thanks.... I should've looked it up.

Just a general question to any here. Is 10% too low, or should it be changed before then.

Also, since I use Mobile one synthetic, can I rely on that indicator or will it(oil) last longer?

Thanks!

No problem Kev, it was a pleasure to look it up. I usually just go by mileage intervals (3500-4000)for oil changes, I really don't pay much attention to the DIC in regard to oil changes. Synthetic oil usually goes on a greater intervals with regard to mileage, doesn't it?

I've been changing my M1 every 5-6k miles. I heard others go more and less on that.

When I swapped my pcm, my old oil life was 29% and went up to 56% That was the only weird thing during my PCM swap.
