Window Stuck Shut - Regulator Dead? ***UPDATE***
Hey guys, I think I'm having another window regulator problem. Who hasn't, right??
The only different thing is that the window is stuck SHUT. The last 2 times they were on my rear windows (both sides broke once). When they broke they fell open. This time it'* on the front passenger side. When I push the down control, I can hear it click and the car feels like it drops a few RPM'*... Just like the regulator motor is jammed, or locked up.
I looked all around the outside of the window and it doens't look like any build up of crud on the outside that would be holding it closed. So, I still think it'* the regulator motor that crapped out.
What do you guys think?

sounds like the window motor. The click is the relay supplying power to the motor and the engine RPM dropping would be the alternator feeling the load that the bad window motor is drawing.

I ran into that last year. This is what I found with mine.

Ok, that is what I figured.
Now, I know, or think I know, that when I had the rears fixed up that the motor was part of the regulator. As in they are both 1 part number. You need just a regulator, and you get a motor too, and vice versa. Is this the same with the front windows too?
Off topic:
It was kind of funny when it broke. My buddy tried opening his window, and it just made the click I was describing. I asked what he did to %$#^ up my car, and told him he had to pay for it. Sadly he has a '00 Grand Prix and knows VERY WELL about the regulator/window problems, and he told me I was on my own.

I haven't seen anyplace that sells just the motor, but that'* not to say that no one does. You could also head to a junkyard, and pick up a regulator - even if the thing is broken, the motor is likely to be good.

Now you have two choises: Pay the astronomical fee the dealership will charge you for the repair, or you can start making preparations for removing the door panel, what'* it going to be?

I have yet to decide what I will be doing. As the window is stuck closed isn't really a huge problem, and my driver'* side is working just fine (which is the one I really care about). I think I might see if I can borrow a friends garage and have him help me with it. Although, plopping down an extra $200 on top of the part to have it done for me doesn't sound like a bad idea either. At least I will know that if it fails again within a year that I won't have to fix it myself again. Plus I'll know I won't have any water leaks getting in.

If you can change out a hard drive on a lap top; then you can definitely do this job. And besides, it'* not going to render your car inoperable.
When the cable in the regulator snaps, the cable get all bird nests around the motor and jams it up. This job requires more patience than skill; so then if you have the patience for repairing computers; then I don't see any reason why you can't do this.
Run a search under door panel removal and look for the thread that harofreak00 posted. He has a diagram that shows how the door panel is fastened.
