Perhaps, I'm just lucky, too. I've had the intermediate shaft problem as well as the rear window regulators, bad tie rods, and rear shock mounts. So far, no bearing issues, squeaks, rattles, or wind noise. Considering some friends problems with their cars, including the "reliable" Hondas, and Toyotas, I've had far fewer problems. Compare it to my '95 Concord, it'* a dream car. I am rather anal regarding preventative maintenance, which I think helps with the Bonneville, but didn't do squat for the Concord. I also don't regularly abuse it.

I can understand Haro'* frustration, though. I'd probably feel the same way if I was constantly having to pour money into it.

The stabilitrak problem is more than likely with a bad sensor in a hub. A Tech II will tell you exactly which one it is. I had the same problem with the active breaking, I ended up just pulling the ABS fuse and drove it to the dealership to have it fixed. They couldn't find anything worng and when I reseated the fuse it the problem never happened again.

Wierd I know.

mine is a 2000 SLE, only two things bug me. I have a rattle in or on the dashboard (pass. right) or its in the overhead console for the sunroof controls. I don't know the sound dances. Second is that when it rains or snows and I open the trunk, the water drains from the taillights right into trunk. Other than that my back driver window sticks a little, i think it just needs some Jig-a-loo. Cheers" TheKaddyKid"

haro, this is along the lines of your thread...but if you don't feel so, smack me

can someone actually make an informal list of common failures on the 2000+ and estimated costs to fix/replace. If all the problems mentioned could be fixed for let'* say $1000, then it would be worth just fixing the probs...then you have an amazing car...without issues. am i saying this right?

Lets do a sticky on this. Common problems, what people have done to fix them, average costs for those that dont work on their own vehicles. Informative and add onto it if someone comes across another common problem. Similar to the 92-99 thread sticky

As for your problems, can a bad PCM do all that?
