Default Quarter panel availability?

Have a friend who has a 2003 SSeI and is hunting for a passenger side front quarter panel. Body shop who is working on the car can't seem to locate a replacement panel. I have not called the stealership yet, but I can't imagine that any reputable body shop would have problems locating one. Anyone here have the part# for left front quarter and know if these are readily available?

Thanks for the reply. Turns out she needs the right rear quarter. She wasn't very clear about what exactly she needed and I have not seen the car. According to her, the body shop doing the work says GM has backordered the rear quarter for umpteen weeks.

Just a couple recent ones there. You might be better off e-mailing the sellers than posting replies, as they may not be hanging around here anymore.

rear quarter? these are unibody cars, there isn't an easily exchangeable quarter panel to just throw on.

the car is going to need a lot of body work, and I'm suprised it is not totalled out.

I'm sure the body shop knows what they are doing.

They were rear quarters cut from a se that was being parted out due to a serious front end collision. Just saying that I saw a couple, not the condition.

Of course you'll have some body work to do when you replace a rear quarter, but it'* not rocket science. I mean, if you have some idiot run into the rear side of your car, any body shop should be able to get a rear body panel from the dealership, yet GM has a back-order on these. Complete BS as far as I'm concerned. I've always owned a variety of GM products over the years, but lately (last 6-8years) I have lost almost all faith in the general. Right now I own a 90 ZR-1 Vette, a 97 GMC Z-71 pick-up, a 2001 Bonneville, and a 05 GTO. GM has almost nothing for the ZR-1 Vettes, Crap parts mostly for the Bonneville, no front facia'* available for GTO'* and on & on. I mean, no front facia'* for the GTO, wtf. I don't need one, but now I don't want to drive the car cause you can't get common parts. The Bonneville is my favorite daily driver, but over the years, the car has been a POS compared to some of the other GM'* I've owned over the years. The friend who called me for help on her Bonneville is desperate to get her car back, but GM can't get a rear quarter and the Insurance Co. doesn't want to pay for salvage yard parts. She'* trapped. It'* just another sad example why GM is in such bad shape now. I also own a 98 Acura NSX and when I go to a Honda or Acura dealership, virtually everything is still available for the NSX back to 1991. I'm not trying to praise the Jap cars as I am a skilled tradesman and want desperately to keep manufacturing alive in the U.*. but American companies just don't seem to understand after sale support and how important it is to future sales. Example, how many years has GM known of the multitude of minor problems that plague the majority of 2000-2005 Bonnevilles, yet did nothing to remedy the problems. Everytime I step into a GM dealership, I try to voice my displeasure of a outstanding car that just has a myriad of nitpicky problems that destroys the pleasure of ownership.

Sorry for the rant, I just had to unload a little.
